I had been lying in bed for at least 5 minutes, debating with myself when the best time to go running would be. "If I go now, I'll get back with at least 15 minutes to get Liza dressed and ready for preschool." "Tyler has somebody coming over, but even if the kids are here while I'm gone, he can just turn on a show for them while I'm gone." "If I don't go now, I could go after Liza goes to school, but then I'd have to push Landon in the stroller." and on and on it went. until I finally got up to go running.
And then I looked out the window. What did I find? A surprising winter wonderland. We were told snow on WEDNESDAY. It's Monday. And that's when I realized that only a fool makes a new running resolution in a 4 season kind of place like Denver in JANUARY (no offense to a lovely cousin in 4 seasons and her half marathon goal). It helped seal the deal that I'll give Tyler's P90X a try on days like today. (And maybe consider a running goal that would train during spring and summer.)

However, though the morning started off differently than expected, it was such a fun snow day. Tyler has Mondays off, so he and the kids went out and played, while I stayed in and did housework, walked around in slippers, and made grilled cheese and tomato soup for the family to enjoy when they were through. Who says winter is no fun?
You sure make winter look fun - and yummy!
ReplyDeleteI miss winter activities....it's always greener from the other side eh?
Looks like fun and your neighborhood (assuming it is) looks cute.
